Kinda feeling like a blur rn, but here are my 2024 reads. My last full year of grad school so less time on the list than I would have hoped, but some wonderful stuff. If you are randomly seeing this and have any reco’s for me please send them my way <3 [email protected]

A pretty damn good description of artists getting in their own way to please others and second guess their work to death, almost. Glad I came upon this unexpectedly as it’s a great one to call you out if (and when we all) get a bit too much ego us us us in our heads and need to see what that might be looking like from the outside. Also Bernardo is dope, and sort of made his way to “true” art in the book by having a successful work with pretty much none of the bs

Such a great look into faith and all the spaces where it changes us and interacts with our lives to create beauty and contradictions wrapped into one. Of the good parts and the ones that leave us wondering about our path and questioning the inherent truths in both worlds.

So grateful for this! For Hanif’s massive reminder to lean into all my own love for tribe and what a miracle their music always was/is. Also such a creative take on sharing the history of a band—with personal and intimate stories and heartfelt letters to the group members and their family. Thx to the staff at the Next Chapter in St. Paul, MN who made this their employee pic and send me on this trip 💜

Didn’t finish but scored some tips on hanging with friends and how important it is
Kinda more basic book than usually for me and made that be ok
